Using the Finished Holder Safely

The supplied images show tea lights placed inside the finished castings. If you intend to use your finished piece with a real burning candle, cast it only from a non-combustible, heat-resistant material that has been appropriately sealed and tested for candle-holder or candle-vessel use.

Ordinary decorative plaster, gypsum, resin or concrete should not automatically be assumed to be suitable for direct flame or candle heat. Material formulation, sealers, wall thickness and heat performance can all affect safety. A flameless LED tea light is an alternative for decorative castings that have not been validated for real-candle use.

The approximately 4 × 4 × 2 cm recess is provided as a dimensional reference. Tea-light dimensions vary, so check the fit of your intended candle or insert before use.

Basic Casting Guidance

• Place the selected silicone mold on a flat, stable and well-supported surface before filling.
• Prepare your casting material according to its manufacturer's recommended mixing and curing instructions.
• Fill carefully around Hebrew lettering, flame details and textured relief to reduce trapped air.
• Allow the casting to cure completely before attempting removal.
• Peel the flexible silicone progressively away from the finished holder rather than pulling forcefully around the recessed cavity or decorative details.
